The Typicon
of the Holy Cross Monastery

Attached is the proposed Typicon or monastic constitution for the future Monastery. The Typicon underlines the monastic way of life for a particular Monastery. It is the official "Rule" of a coenobitic community: all things are common to all the monks. The community lives in obedience to the monastic Typicon: everything is done according to the established order for services, community life and welcoming guests. The Typicon guides, inspires, directs our way of life according to the Holy Gospel.

The Typicon has its source from the prescribed rules that came to us from the Holy Fathers like St. Anthony the Great, St. Pachomius and St. Basil the Great.

We hope it will inspire you as you read it.
