Worship With Us

The Divine Liturgy is held every Sunday. However, on the Feast day of St. Andrew, All Saints and the Three Hierarchs, there is no Liturgy at the Monastery since we join our Hierarch and other clergy for the celebration of the parishÂ’s Feast day.

S
ervices are held mostly in English even though there is Romanian (and some Greek) in the Services, especially with the hymns. All Orthodox Christians, whether they are Romanian, Greek, Serbian or Canadian are welcome at the Monastery especially for the life-giving mystery of Holy Communion, in order to afford themselves of the many blessings that the Lord grants us as we gather in His Name.

T
he Divine Liturgy, according to St. John Chrysostom, is a fundamental element for the spiritual life of every Orthodox Christian. Through the Divine Liturgy, all - priests, deacons and faithful - proclaim with one heart and re-affirm their faith and belonging to the Lord and His Church.

The Divine Liturgy (like other Divine Services and personal prayer) is an opportunity to be thankful to God, with our brothers and sisters in Christ, for His gifts and His mercy toward us and also unites us to Christ in receiving His most precious Body and Blood offered for the remission of our sins and life everlasting. The Divine Liturgy truly manifests the Kingdom of God among us.

I
n order to prepare for Holy Communion, we must reconcile ourself with our brothers and sisters, spend a quiet evening and read the appointed prayers before Communion. We must fast from midnight on, except for health reasons and we should take advantage of Confession monthly, especially before the feasts of the Nativity of Christ, Pascha, Sts Peter and Paul and the Dormition of the Theotokos.

Whenever we have the Divine Liturgy (whether on weekdays or Sundays), we start with Matins (Orthros) at 9:00 am followed by the Liturgy around 10:15 am: please arrive on time for the Liturgy.

You are also WELCOME at the Monastery for private prayer between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm from Monday to Saturday. You should call the Monastery to advise of your visit, only to make sure Father is there or anyone else to greet you.

May the Peace and Joy of our Lord Jesus Christ be always with you!
